GBCC and United Healthcare Establish
Partnership
UnitedHealthcare and its Generations of
Wellness initiative will provide African American
small businesses an opportunity to have access
to health care information. Inequalities
in health care reflect some of the greatest
challenges for African Americans - lack of access
to quality health care and inadequate health
insurance. The partnership benefits will
include educational seminars for GBCC members
about ways that small business owners can find
affordable health plans; educational materials
that will help GBCC members better manager their
health (i.e., health tip sheets, health programs
from the American Heart and American Stroke
Associations; annual health fair for GBCC members;
and much more.
Tomica Young, UHC Project Manager African-American
Marketing was guest speaker at the March GBCC
